Tip #2

Your stomach empties after 3 hours/every three hours. I make it a point to eat then. And I don't care about all these 100-calorie pouch, or dairy (pudding) items, if I want to eat at the end of 3 hours, I still do but I do it healthfully. That is to say, on Sundays, I clean and rinse and slice/chop celery, carrots (not the midget ones), green and/or sweet peppers, cucumber, and then individually wrap them into packets of 3-4 ounces. When I prepare my lunch nightly, I toss a packet in and either Sabra Greek humus or something equivalent (2 Tbsp.) Or, Cabot makes a VERY fat free cheese product, so I munch on 1-2 ounces because of lower calories but it is a protein source. But, like I said before, I have chanpioned not eating anything solid after 7 p.m.

Slim & trim

I've got a little reserve of diet tips. I eat lean protein at every meal. For breakfast, this usually manifests as either Canadian bacon, or turkey sausage, or turkey bacon. Turkey bacon comes as either 99% fat free, or 65% fat free, or 50% fat free. I cast aside the 99%, the 65%, even, and usually broil one-third a pack of 50% bacon (heavy PAM spray on the broiler rack) for the week, and freeze up the remaining two-thirds in plastic wrap for later use. This usually yields me 3 little baggies of 2 bacon slices each. I usually have it (2 slices) with 1 fried over easy large egg, or 2 scrambled egg whites, and 1 slice whole wheat toast. Or, I'll just stick the re-heated bacon (2 slices) up in a piece of whole wheat toast. Other mornings I have 1 whole grain waffle, 2 Tbsp. lite syrup, about 2 ounces fresh fruit, and the meat (see above). Canadian bacon is 99% fat free. Some mornings I'll make a smoothie of 6 oz. 80% fat free yogurt, 1 cup fat free milk, and about one-quarter fresh fruit. Or, 1 slice whole wheat toast & 2 Tbsp. peanut butter OR one little "triangle" "Lite" "Cow" cheese slathered on. I always have coffee with non-fat cream.
